Meet the Personal and Business Banking Team

  • Matthew Smith Vice President
    Branch Manager
    Matthew Smith is a vice president and branch manager at City National's Long Island Regional Center. He is tasked with leading his branch team to exemplary levels of service, identifying and implementing solutions for clients while maintaining the highest levels of operational integrity.

    Prior to joining City National, Mr. Smith worked for Capital One, where he was a multi-site market manager with responsibilities to execute team-based service levels, market growth initiatives and risk mitigation strategies. Mr. Smith has extensive experience in financial services including prior responsibilities in residential lending, insurance services and investments.

    Mr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in business management from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Outside of working hours, he is involved in many charitable and community activities. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

  • Davi Tserpelis Senior Vice President
    Business Banking Manager
    Davi Tserpelis is a senior vice president and business banking manager at City National's Long Island Regional Center. She leads a team of experienced business bankers, providing products and services to grow and protect family businesses, including financing, cash management, investments and international trade solutions.

    Ms. Tserpelis has 30 years of commercial lending and banking experience. Prior to City National, she was a senior vice president with Astoria Bank's Long Island business banking team. Before that, she was a senior vice president on Citibank's Long Island business banking team.

    Ms. Tserpelis has served various not-for-profits including The Book Fairies, American Heart Association and Jericho Public School. She is co-founder and secretary of the board for Middle Market Alliance of Long Island. She has been awarded the Long Island Business News Executive Circle of Excellence, Long Island Power Women In Business, and Top 50 Most Influential Women in Long Island.

  • Cristina Givelechian Senior Vice President
    Senior Relationship Manager
    As a senior relationship manager, Cristina Givelechian assists mid-size companies obtain financing to run operations, expand to new markets, develop new product lines, make acquisitions, and acquire real estate and other fixed assets. She also provides guidance to business owners as it relates to other commercial banking services such as cash management, trade financing, FX and swap products.

    Ms. Givelechian has been in banking for 25 years and held various roles including senior corporate banking manager in the middle market group and district credit officer in commercial banking at HSBC, as well as various client-facing roles in commercial banking at Chase.

    Ms. Givelechian holds a Master of Business Administration degree in banking and finance from Hofstra University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Academy of Economic Studies in Romania. She completed the Analyst Credit Training program at Chase and the Advance Credit Skills program at HSBC.
  • Jay Yarnell Senior Vice President
    Team Leader
    Jay Yarnell is a team leader for the New York City metropolitan area and a senior vice president with City National's commercial banking division. Based in the Park Avenue office, Mr. Yarnell leads a team of commercial bankers delivering customized financial solutions to mid-corporate businesses in the New York region.

    Mr. Yarnell has more than 30 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, he was regional managing director and senior vice president with HSBC's commercial banking division in New York. He was responsible for mid-corporate business in the New York region, with commercial hubs located in New York City and New Jersey, as well as in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.

    Mr. Yarnell earned his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Currently, he is chairman of the credit committee for the 504 Company in New Jersey.
  • Sanjay Mukhi Vice President Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager
    Sanjay Mukhi is a vice president and senior business banking relationship manager at City National's Long Island Regional Center. He manages a business banking portfolio with companies of annual revenues between $5 million and $50 million. Mr. Mukhi is a trusted advisor, helping clients meet their ongoing business challenges.

    Mr. Mukhi has nearly 30 years of banking experience, with the last 15 years in business banking for large regional financial institutions in Long Island. He began his banking career with Chase Manhattan Bank, completing the Management Development Program in 1992. Prior to joining City National he was with Santander Bank, where he focused on acquisition and retention of small to middle market companies in Brooklyn and Long Island.

    Mr. Mukhi earned his Master of Business Administration in banking and finance from Hofstra University, and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College.
  • Joe De Orio Vice President Senior Relationship Manager
    Joe De Orio is a vice president and senior relationship manager at City National's Long Island Regional Center. His primary responsibility is to grow City National Bank's presence throughout Long Island and Queens through client acquisition. He advises and consults with privately held companies, identifies areas of opportunity for growth, and provides valuable market insight for clients. Mr. De Orio is also a full service banking advisor to business owners and other high-net-worth individuals.

    Mr. De Orio has 18 years of experience in the New York City and Long Island markets at banks including Capital One and Bank of America. Prior to joining City National, he served as a small business banker in New York City and a small business banking manager in Long Island at Bank of America. Prior to Bank of America, he held several positions within Capital One Bank, where he served as a customer service representative, assistant branch manager, branch manager and eventually a business banking relationship manager.

    Mr. De Orio received his Bachelor of Science degree from State University College at Oneonta. He enjoys giving back to the communities he serves by volunteering to charitable organizations such as Long Island Cares and Habitat for Humanity. Mr. De Orio is NMLS registered and a licensed notary.
  • Richard Bairos Vice President Treasury Management Sales Advisor
    Richard Bairos is a vice president and treasury management sales advisor at City National's Long Island Regional Center. He provides commercial clients with recommendations to streamline day-to-day receivables, payables, and bank reporting operations while identifying opportunities to mitigate fraud risk.

    Mr. Bairos has worked in treasury management throughout his 15-year banking career. He began with Santander Bank's client services, implementation and sales support teams, followed by roles as a treasury management sales advisor at Capital One, Webster Bank, and Astoria Bank, working with clients ranging from small businesses to large corporations across numerous industries.

    Mr. Bairos is a graduate of Rhode Island College, where he earned the Wall Street Journal Award as the top graduate in the Finance Program. He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), a designation sponsored by the Association for Financial Professionals that is globally recognized as the leading credential in corporate treasury.
  • Jeannine McGoldrick Vice President Senior Client Manager
    Jeannine McGoldrick is a senior client manager at City National's Long Island Regional Center. She manages a variety of complex financial transactions and issues for her clients. She is an expert in operations policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, contributing to overall branch sales efforts and all aspects of operational integrity for the branch and colleagues. She is instrumental in hiring and developing branch colleagues, providing motivation and direction to achieve exemplary service levels for the branch.

    Ms. McGoldrick has 13 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining City National, she served as a cluster branch manager for HSBC. Prior to HSBC, she held several positions within Capital One Bank, where she began as a teller and worked her way up to lead teller, assistant branch manager and branch manager.

    Ms. McGoldrick has been active in the Huntington Chamber of Commerce and the BOOM network and has volunteered with charitable organizations such as Family Service League. Ms. McGoldrick is NMLS registered and holds accident, health and life insurance licenses along with her Series 6 and 63 licenses.

    Keith Banks is a relationship banker with City National Bank's Long Island Regional Center. He advises personal and business clients in all facets of their financing needs while providing a first class client experience.

    Ms. Parmar has extensive experience in the financial services industry. She previously worked at TD Bank, collaborating with personal, high-net-worth clients and other bank partners to ensure that all client requests were fulfilled.

    Ms. Parmar has been active in the Nassau Chamber of Commerce, and she volunteers with Hofstra University and Adelphi University to educate new-to-school students on financial issues. She maintains strong relationships with major law firms, doctors' offices and churches in the Nassau County area.
